Welcome to my Wishtime Toy Ambulance Rescue Toy review. My little boy is fascinated by emergency vehicles, particularly Ambulances so a toy like this is perfect. Even more so because it’s more than just a push along toy.
Design and quality:
This ambulance toy isn’t your typical push along vehicle, it’s a feature pack toy that gives young children a mild hands-on look of what goes on in a real ambulance, don’t worry though, there’s no gory stuff or blood, this is a 100% child-friendly toy. It comes with a driver and a patient as well as four toy medical tools which are a thermometer, a syringe, a scalpel and a scope. The ambulance has an X-ray inside it and a few buttons that make different noises such as heart beats and coughing.
The ambulance itself has real flashing lights and sounds as well as an automatic driving function. If the ambulance crashes into a wall or other obstacle it turns away and goes in a different direction. All of these functions are powered by three AA batteries (not included).
The back half of the ambulance opens up to reveal the patient area. The roof at the rear end is split in half down the middle so each side opens outwards making the inside of the roof face upwards. Each side of the roof has two slots for storing the medical tools.
The quality is really quite good, which is what I expect from a toy that is likely to get thrashed around by a three-year-old. It feels quite solid and this gives me the confidence that it’s not going to break within a few months of use.
The funtertainment test:
I do quite a lot of roleplay activities with my son and one of those is doctor and patient as he has a doctor’s roleplay set, so naturally he took to this ambulance and its features quite well. We have both sat and played with the ambulance to help mend the patient using all the different bits of kit and the speedy ambulance to get to the scene.
It’s clear to see my little boy really enjoys this toy he has spent countless hours playing with it since it arrived at the door. He loves how it moves on its own and even gets itself out of tricky bump involved accidents with obstacles. Then, of course, there’s the level of patient interaction which is what really makes this an amazing toy. The medical tools really have helped my son to understand the different basics of medical care, without taking the associated gory root.
I have no complaints about this toy at all. It’s an amazing way to help children learn about ambulances and their purpose as well as helping their roleplay skills. My son loves this toy and it’s so clear to see he enjoys it.
I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest and unbiased review. This has had no effect on my overall opinion of the product.
