TeckNet Omni Mini 2.4G Wireless Mouse Review: A Small Mouse For Carrying About With Ease

Introduction:

Welcome to my TeckNet Omni Mini 2.4G Wireless Mouse review. If you carry a laptop about or don’t like using the mice at work, you will find a wireless mouse very handy, particularly if it’s as small as this one.

Design:

I have to admit I am not a fan of the exterior shell fo this mouse, it looks good but it feels awful and that’s because it’s made from a thin plastic and has no rubber coating for grip at all. While it has a curved design like most other mice do, it lacks any real comfort features.

It’s a four-button mouse, while most other mice with the exception of gaming mice usually have three. The fourth button on this mouse is a DPI switch and if you don’t know what DPI is, it’s the speed that your cursor moves across the screen when you are moving the mouse. The lower it is the slower the cursor and the higher it is the faster the cursor. This mouse has three DPI speeds to choose from which are, 1000, 1500 and 2000. These are easy to switch between as all you have to do is push the DPI switch.

At the bottom of the mouse is a slide off battery cover that reveals a space for the nano receiver to live when not in use and a space for a single AA battery (not included).

In use:

The mouse works really well and I do have to admit I am very happy with it in terms of performance. It works well on my mouse mat and even on the bare surface of my desk. Each button click is precise and smooth with no latency or other issues at all. So far I have been using it with my laptop and have had no issues con

So far I have been using it with my laptop and have had no issues connecting it at all. It’s a case of simply taking the nano receiver out of the bottom of the mouse and placing it an available USB port on your PC or laptop. Once plugged in it will automatically install drivers and be ready to use within 30 seconds.

Overall:

While I like how well this mouse performs and just how easy it is to set up, I can’t give it full marks as the design, well namely the plastic used is awful and just doesn’t feel like it belongs on a mouse at all.
