Introduction:
Welcome to my Marsboy Anti Dog Barking Collar review. Before I start my review, I’ll just say that I won’t be using this on my dog again, not because it didn’t work but more because he seemed too discomforted by the shocks. After I noticed this discomfort I decided to hold the collar to myself and to my surprise they were quite powerful. I’m not saying this is a bad product, but I just can’t bring myself to use it again.
Design:
The collar consists of a normal strap that goes around the dog’s neck and clips in to create a secure and comfortable hold around their neck. Then there’s the shock compartment itself which is shaped like a half circle. It has two sensitivity buttons for adjusting the sensitivity of the bark sensor, a battery compartment for a 6V battery (comes included) and two metal prongs that provide a shock to the dog if it hasn’t stopped barking after two warning tones, the prongs can be adjusted if your dog has a thick coat as the device comes with some that simply screw onto the top of the existing ones. At each side of the front panel of this collar is a slot, these two slots are where the collar band runs through it.
Also included is a small light device that tests the prongs are working correctly. To do this simply blow into the hole between the two prongs on the rear of the collar three times and then as the third beep is going place the light tester down so that the metal contact points meet the prongs. If the electric is flowing the light on the tester will light up.
In use:
I won’t deny that this does stop my dog from barking and it’s very effective, however, my conscience just won’t allow me to continue using this on my dog. I do admit that’s my own fault. There’s nothing physically wrong with the product and I won’t judge anyone who uses one, but for me, I just can’t bring myself to continue down this path for training my dog. I do also think the shock is a bit more than mild. I do, however, like the fact it does warn the dog a few times before shocking him or her, but again I just can’t bring myself to carry on using it.
Overall:
The collar works and is easy to set up. I have no real complaints in that department other than the fact the shock is slightly more than just ‘mild’. I do like the fact the dog gets a few chances before being shocked as well.
