Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset design
Given the low price of the Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset, it’s no real surprise that the design isn’t really premium and leans more towards a cheap to mid range product instead. Instead of strong materials like those found on the higher priced Xiberia T19 this headset makes use of rather cheap feeling plastics for its exterior.
Don’t get me wrong, while the materials are cheap, the design does look pretty neat and it’s really easy to see this has been designed with gaming in mind. There are some neat little features too such as the light up logos that feature on the exterior side of each earcup and the microphone which has its own dedicated slot on the front of the left earcup, that allows you to fold it upwards and took it away while not in use. This does have one downside, which is that it means it’s a stiff-bodied microphone that can only be moved up and down with no way of moving it closer to the mouth, not so good for quiet gamers who don’t like to raise their voices.
The cabling is average with a cheap appearance to it. It will most likely stand the test of time, but if you’re careless and get it tangled and have to yank it out, it will most likely snap. It’s long enough at 2m for me to be able to plug it into the back of my PC and still have some slack left over, which is of course always a good thing. It does also have an in-line control for volume adjustment and turning the microphone on and off as well as a mute button.
Comfort is an important factor when it comes to gaming headsets and I’m pleased to say that the Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset provides adequate enough comfort. This is thanks to the thick padding used around the earcups and for the headband. I am able to use this headset for hours at a time without any discomfort at all.
Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset audio and microphone quality
The audio quality of the Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset is one of the best things about it. It’s amazing for such a cheap gaming headset and the 7.1 surround sound makes it even better. The audio is clear and crisp with an amazing level of bass. These are all things a lot of other cheaper gaming headsets tend to fail at. Add the 7.1 surround sound and it gets even better. Suddenly the gaming world becomes more immersive and you begin to hear stuff happening in the game as if it were happening in real life. This means you get a real sense of direction in terms of which way a certain sound game from, such as footsteps behind you or an explosion in front of you. Of course, I also use this headset for listening to music as well as gaming and the performance is on par so no issues at all with the audio quality.
Then there’s the microphone which is pretty good but as I mentioned earlier I do feel it would be better if it could be moved left to right. so I don’t have to raise my voice every so often. It is a good microphone though and it picks up my voice without any issues and clearly delivers it to my teammates or anyone I am talking to.
Overall
The Sades USB 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset is an excellent bit of kit for the money. The low price does mean sacrifices have had to be made and this has resulted in a cheap plastic exterior and a rather fragile feeling cable. However, when it comes to audio the headset is fantastic and really is hard to beat in its price bracket.
