Carefully hidden under the main body to only be visible when the power bank is in use are four LED indicators, which light up in sequence to indicate a percentage range of the remaining power. If all four lights are lit, the remaining power sits between 90 to 100%, if only three at lit it means 70 to 90% remains, if only two are lit it means 40 to 70% remains, if only 1 is lit it means 10 to 40% remains while none being lit means either the power bank is turned off or there’s only 0 to 10% of power remaining. A handy feature to have, although it does take a while to remember the percentage for each sequence.
The Poweradd Pilot X7 power bank also features a small LED flashlight built-in. Admittedly it took me a while to figure out how to turn this on as the included instructions weren’t correct. They tell you to hold the switch down for three seconds to turn it on or off, however, I actually found you have to press the button three times very quickly to turn the light on and off.
Charging devices with the Poweradd Pilot X7 power bank is quite easy, simply connect your desired device to it using one of the output ports, this will automatically start the power bank thanks to some intelligent chips inside. Now you’re all done, simply wait until your device is charged to the level you want.
Since this is a 20,000mAh power bank, the actual capacity will be sat somewhere in the 19,000’s as a percentage of that power is required by the power bank itself. This is still not to be scoffed at as 19,000mAh is still large and capable of giving most modern phone at least four or five full charges. I have been using it to charge a Huawei P Smart that has a 3000mAh battery. I have only ever charged it from 1% to 100% to get accurate results and have managed to get five full charges from the large battery of the Pilot X7.
Overall the Poweradd Pilot X7 power bank is large enough to offer several charges to most modern devices. It also offers two outputs so you can charge multiple devices at once. It’s rather basic in terms of looks and doesn’t offer any thrills. It’s not light, nor is it heavy, but its weight is noticeable and this means it’s a pain to carry around in a pocket, so instead a bag is recommended.
