Introduction:
Welcome to my Etekcity LED Desk Lamp review. Desk lamps are really handy devices, that can be used for a computer desk, sideboards or bedside cabinets. I usually find myself using them on my desk for late evenings of work.
Design and quality:
The design of this lamp is really stunning. Rather than a typical boring looking desk lamp, this one has an arm design with two points of bending. One point is towards the bottom, where the middle arm connects to the control panel area, the next point is where the middle arm connects to the lighting bar. These arms allow you to easily position the light bar at many different angles to make finding the correct position easy.
The light also sits on a rectangular base, which allows it to be turned in an almost full circle, which again does wonders for the positioning of the lamp. The Etekcity LED Desk Lamp can be attached and detached from the base thanks to the hand nut like system that is in place at the bottom of the lamp.
On the control panel that is located at the base of the lamp are eight touch-sensitive buttons that allow you to do things like adjusting the brightness, change the mode or activate the timed mode. On the side of the panel is a USB port, that can be used to charge a connected mobile device.
Quality wise the lamp is fantastic although the top arm does has trouble lining up with the middle arm, when folded down, which gives it an off line appearance. Other than this though the lamp is well made.
In use:
I have this lamp sitting on my PC desk ready for the dark evenings when I am likely to be doing work that involves reading, typing and taking photos. The lamp has four modes, each of which has its own dedicated activity in mind. There’s a mode for reading, a mode for studying, a mode for relaxing and lastly a mode for sleeping. Each of the modes has its own color settings, for example, the reading mode uses a mixture of warm white light and yellow lighting to create a fantastic light that in my experience is fantastic for reading books and magazines.
The lamp is fantastic and I love each of the modes. I am also very happy that I can adjust the brightness up and down thanks to the adjustment buttons on the control panel. there’s even a timer mode that makes the lamp turn off after 60 minutes.
Overall:
This Etekcity LED Desk Lamp is fantastic. It’s well made and very easy to use. It has a variety of different modes, for activities such as reading, studying and a few other things. The brightness can be easily adjusted which is a huge bonus in my opinion.
