Welcome to my Xtava Pro Satin Infrared Hair Straighteners review. Recently I have reviewed some brush style straighteners, which were good, but now I have tested something new to me and my partner, which are infrared straighteners.

Presentation and design:
The presentation of these hair straighteners was the first thing to strike me about them. The box they come packed in is black with gold-colored spots and a photo of the straighteners on each side of the box. Upon on opening the box for the first time you are greeted by another box, this time, it’s all black and has a chest like opening style. This box could be used to store the set in when not in use. Once you open this box for the first time you are greeted by a neat carry bag, that has an insulated inside to allow you to almost instantly put the straighteners away after each use. So not only is there a box for storage, there’s also a cool bag.
The straighteners themselves are very similar in design to normal straighteners, with the exception of having infrared technology. There’s two sets of floating plates, one of which has an infrared light in the center of it.
One thing that really annoys me about the design though is the location of the buttons. Instead of being on the top handle below the LCD display, they have been placed on the inside of the lower handle, this makes them a bit awkward to use, particularly if you have large fingers.
The finish is a mixture of both glossy painted plastic and matt painted plastic, while a silver trim . This gives it a really nice look that can easily compete with some of the well-known brands out there.
The power cable is quite thick and is connected to the straighteners by a 360 degrees rotatable end. This allows you to walk around with the straighteners without the fear of them getting wrapped around you.
The build quality is pretty good. There are no visible quality issues and the straighteners feel solid in the hand. A quick shake of them reveals no loose sounding parts inside or outside of the product. I have no concerns at all in regards to the build quality.
In use:
My partner has been making use of these every day since they arrived and it’s safe to say she loves using them. The infrared technology really does seem to keep her hair looking and feeling healthy, while the straighteners do a fantastic job of straightening her hair out flat.
They heat up within 90 seconds and have an adjustable heat range between 130 degrees celsius and 230 degrees celsius. My partner says the speed at which they heat up and change temperature is brilliant for her needs.
Overall:
This is a fantastic set of hair straighteners, right from the presentation down to the product itself. I have found one thing that seems like a silly design idea and that’s the location of the heat adjustment buttons.
