Introduction:
Welcome to my NUOLUX Kids Painting Apron review. As the father of a three-year-old boy, I know all too well just how messy children can be when it comes to painting and other messy crafting activities. I also know all too well how awkward it is to get paint out of clothes. That’s why for me, this is an essential thing to have for any young child.
Design:
The apron is large enough for any small child from roughly the age of three to twelve years old. It reaches from my son’s neck to just above his knees. It has two points of contact where it is secured to the child. The first one is around the neck and uses a hook and loop fastener. This is big enough to fit around my neck. The other point is around the upper stomach area, unfortunately, there’s no way of adjusting the mid strap as it only has a small section of hook and loop fasteners. No means of adjustment means it does sit quite loosely on my child, which isn’t a huge issue, but it would be nicer if it was just a bit tighter.
The apron is made from a waterproof material that protects the clothes from water as well as paint. This also means this can be handy for other things such as cooking and water play.
There are three large pockets running along the bottom of the apron. These are perfect for storing things such as pens, brushes and other stuff. Towards the top of the apron in the middle is a single smaller pocket, which again is perfect for storing things like brushes in.
The build quality is actually really quite good, although for some reason there seemed to already be a patch of ground in dirt on this apron when I received it. This is probably a one-off and it did wash out with ease.
In use:
The apron fits my little boy well but isn’t as tight as I would have preferred. He has used it a few times now, but mainly for baking and it has worked wonders at keeping the flour off his jumper. We have yet to use it for painting, but given the reviews for the product already, I have no doubt it will be effective against paints.
Overall:
This is a fantastic apron that is good value for money (only £4.99 at the time of this review). It has one issue which is the fact it offers no adjustment. I would, however, definitely recommend this to anyone with a young child.
