The Evilto number style alarm clock is kind of different to your typical desk/bedside clock. Why? you might ask, well because instead of being a cube or round shape, it’s actually shaped like numbers, digital numbers to be precise.
When turned off it simply looks like four number 8’s with a panel sat in the middle, once turned on though, those number eights becoming partially illuminated to create the numbers of the current time. So for example 7:50 in the morning appears as 7.50 or 14.00 in the afternoon appears as 14:00, with the corresponding areas of each 8 shape lit up.
This digital number styling gives it a modern and very sleek appearance, which surprisingly goes well sat on my desk next to my PC. If you don’t want it on your desk, you could instead mount it to your wall, thanks to the mounting hole on the back. If you do decide to mount it to a wall, you can easily remove the desk stand from the bottom of the clock.
Located in the center of the clock is a small panel that’s home to four LED lights. Two of the four lights act as the dividing dots that separate the hours and the minutes, while the other lights tell you if the alarm is activated or that it’s PM if you have the 12-hour clock mode activated. On the top edge of this panel is a set of three buttons, which are used to set the time, switch the modes, set an alarm and change the brightness.
There’s not a lot I can really say about how it functions, other than that it functions well. It tells the time as you set it and is accurate to the minute. The alarm also works really well and provides a loud enough sound to ensure you are easily awoken. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that the only power source option is a USB cable, meaning the clock has to be constantly plugged in. Yes there’s a watch battery in the back, but I’m not even sure what it’s for, if I had to guess, it’s probably just there to ensure your alarm goes off if you have a power cut in the middle of the night as it certainly doesn’t power the LED’s to show you the time.
Overall the Evilto number style alarm clock is pretty cool, especially in terms of looks. It’s just so modern and looks so sleek in place. It functions well as a clock and alarm, although as I mentioned, the fact it has to be plugged in all the time is a disappointment.
