CHGeek Heavy Duty Two Port Car Charger Review: It Could One Day Save Your Life

Introduction:

Welcome to my CHGeek Heavy Duty Two Port Car Charger review. I have reviewed a few different mobile phone car chargers, but none have ever carried the extra functionality that this one does. This carries two features you may hopefully never need, but should you need them, they are here. The first feature is its weight, which makes it an effective glass hammer. The other feature is the rope cutter, for cutting seat ropes in emergencies.

Design:

This is fairly similar to most other car mobile chargers I have used, with the exception of the safety features. It’s made of a tough metal and has quite a bit of weight to it. The tip that plugs into the car’s cigarette lighter port is actually the hammer part and is shaped very much like a typical glass breaking hammer.

At the top end of the device are two quick charge 2.0 USB ports. These will work with none quick charge devices as well but will perform at their best with QC 2.0 devices. just below these ports is a small slightly hidden blade. this blade isn’t fully exposed at it sits under a protective shielding, but there’s enough gap between the shielding and the blade for you to use this to cut a seat belt, should you ever have to.

The device is colored mostly black which gives it a sleek and stylish look while ensuring it fits in well with the interior of most cars. This color scheme stops at the connection tip which is a nice silver color.

In use:

The charger does an excellent job of charging my phones. I have one QC 2.0 device and one normal device so have been able to test this with both types of device. The QC device was able to charge from flat to full in less than 2 hours while my other device took under 3 hours to charge.

Of course, charging phones is important, but this device takes the importance a step further and offers you two very useful tools that could one day save your life. Now, in all honesty, I haven’t the resources to test these two bits out and neither am I going to deface the car to do it, but given how much this feels like a real glass breaking hammer, I’m not inclined to think these two features won’t work.

Overall:

This is an amazing device. Not only can it charge your phones on a long journey , you can also feel comfortable knowing that should there be an accident, you have two valuable tools in your car, that are right in front of you. This isn’t just useful, it’s also very handy in an emergency.
