EC Technology Portable Speaker Review: Design
This speaker has a rather nice but basic design to it. The reason I say this is because it’s not littered with too many buttons or un-needed things. In fact, the buttons are carefully placed on the side of the speaker. This means they don’t spoil the elegant look created by the gorgeous zinc alloy shell.
Around the back of the speaker is a rubber flap that covers both the microUSB charging port and the 3.5mm audio jack. The front of the speaker is to three columns of vertical lines that form the grill of this speaker.
On the bottom of the speaker are two rubber feet that are designed to ensure the speaker grips the surface it is sat on. Admittedly these don’t seem to always work from my experience. This is more so the case when playing music at louder volumes. I’ve already had this speaker fall off a tabletop once from strong vibrations, fortunately, it survived with a minor scratch.
On the right-hand side (when the speaker grill is facing the user) is a panel of buttons within a rubber covering. These are all the operational buttons such as power, volume control and music controls. The opposite side is home to the EC Technology branding.
Inside the speaker is a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Unfortunately, I’m not sure of the capacity of this battery as I can’t find it listed anywhere, but the listing does say it offers up to 12 hours of audio playback from a single charge. This so far has been the case for me. I have used this speaker for a total of 10 hours so far and it’s still going strong from its first charge.
EC Technology Portable Speaker Review: Setup
As I have said many times on many different Bluetooth speakers, the initial pairing of this speaker with my mobile phone was a quick and painless task, that was complete within 30 seconds. Now my phone will simply automatically connect when both its Bluetooth and the speaker are turned on. Of course, if you are unsure of how to it up, the included manual does a fantastic job of explaining the process.
EC Technology Portable Speaker Review: Audio quality
If you’re looking for a speaker that certainly packs a punch in the audio department, then please keep reading as this one does just that. It offers a decent amount of treble and bass, which came as a shock to me, considering it’s not a big speaker by any means. Each note and every lyric come out of this little baby with clarity.
The small size does have a few restrictions though such as the volume, which is a little low for my taste, of course, you could use the volume rocker on the side of your phone too, but, if like me you over do it, the sound does become a bit distorted.

For a small gathering such as having a few friends over or camping, this speaker is pretty good. It offers a fantastic simple but effective design and produces some decent audio. The volume level could be a bit better and the rubber feet could do a better job but overall this is a brilliant speaker.
