Crabot C5 Bluetooth Headphones Review

The Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones are an over the ear set of wireless headphones that utilize Bluetooth 4.1, for a pleasurable audio listening experience. The feature 40mm larger aperture drivers and a built-in rechargeable battery amongst other things.

Listed below are bestselling Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones which satisfy both affordability and quality.

When it comes to looks the Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones, don’t disappoint. They have a modern styling, that offers no thrills but instead simply offers simplicity. The design features large-sized ear cups, easy to access buttons, plenty of padding and ear cups that fold away to make carrying the C5’s around an easy task.

The padding provided is just enough to ensure comfort is present, especially the padding around the ear cups. I do feel the headband could be padded a bit more as after prolonged periods of use I often find my head to be hurting in the area of the headband.

In terms of materials used for the exterior, there’s not much to be disappointed about, and I say this because, unlike many other cheap headphones, the plastic used isn’t extremely hollow, which from my experience is often a lead up to terrible sound quality.

On the right ear cup are three buttons, which can be used to skip tracks. play/pause audio and adjust the volume level. Also present here is the built-in microphone and microUSB charging point, while the outer edge area is home to a status LED light. The left ear cup is home to the power button and a 3.5mm audio in point.

On the inside edge of edge (the area where your ear sits) of each ear cup is a marking that dictates which side that ear cup should be on, so L for left and R for right. The markings are large and clear and having them in such a position certainly makes them noticeable.

As with many Bluetooth products on the market today, the Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones are very easy to pair with a smartphone. The whole process took me no more than 30 seconds to complete. The working distance for these headphones when paired with a Bluetooth device is the typical 10m within an open space. I have to say that I am able to listen to my music from these while cleaning the kitchen with my phone left in the front room with no issues at all, I do however experience connection issues if I venture up the stairs, while leaving the phone in the front room.

If Bluetooth’s not your thing or you have a device with no Bluetooth functionality, such as an MP3 player or a PC, you’ll be happy to know that the Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones also offer a 3.5mm audio jack connection option and a cable for this is included in the box.

Powering the C5’s is a built-in rechargeable battery that offers up to 24 hours of playback based on a volume level of 50%, so basically what this means is that the louder you use them, the less battery time you get. I tend to use them around the 50% mark and have so far only charged them once and that was the initial charge, that is recommended you do to ensure the battery is full before the first use. If you are one of those people who often forget to charge their tech, then fear not as you can still use the headphones, should the battery go flat on you, you’ll just have to make sure you are carrying the 3.5mm audio cable around with you as this will be your only choice of connection during a flat battery.

So now the design and other features are out-of-the-way, we move on to the most important part of any audio product….. the sound. While I’m personally no audiophile with major experience in this sort of thing, I do own enough pairs of headphones to know a decent sounding pair when I see one. So are the Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones a decent sounding pair? Well, I’d say so and I say this because they offer clear sound with an emphasis on the beat, while not cutting out the words. The bass level is set to a level that’s not too low and not too high, which means the audio being blasted into your ears isn’t going to be dull or have the chance to make your ears fall off. I have found that if you do go too loud, that distortion comes into play, so do bare that in mind, particularly if you love your music loud.

In conclusion, the Crabot C5 Bluetooth headphones are well made, without that awful hollow plastic and offer a decent level of comfort for short periods of use. The audio they produce is clear and packs a punch in the bass department, although listening at higher volumes does product distortion. I am most impressed by the battery life of these as they offer up to 24 hours of use, something that most of my other earphones don’t offer, instead, they often give around 10 hours of use.

PROS:

  • Well made
  • Great battery life
  • Decent audio at reasonable volumes

CONS:

  • Become uncomfortable during periods of long use
  • Distortion at louder volumes
