Considering these cost between £20 to £23 in most places, the design is actually really pleasing. Rather than a cheap plastic looking set of in-ear headphones, you get a look that is minimalist yet still stylish. The buds are complete with an all-metal casing that provides a sleek look whilst maintaining a lightweight status. Taking up space on the outer edge of each bud is the Brainwavz logo in white sat on a red area of metal.
A 1.3 meters long cable is used to ensure there’s plenty of free movement for you and your connected device. I find this length to be just enough for me to be able to comfortably place my phone in my pocket and get it out freely without putting any pressure on the cable itself.
The cable is a thin tubular shaped cable instead of a flat cable, which leads me to one slight problem and that is to do with tangle resistance. Anytime I place these earphones in my pocket, they do get slightly tangled, which is an annoyance, luckily though Brainwavz has included a case in the package with room for the headphones and extra ear tips.
There’s an in-line remote located on the line running to and from the left bud. This offers basic functions such as playing/pausing music, taking phone calls and adjusting the volume. A microphone is also present on the opposite side of the remote.
Four sets of ear inserts come included with the Brainwavz Audio Delta headphones. Three of them are silicone inserts of varying sizes, while a separately packaged set of premium memory foam inserts makes up the fourth set. I have to say I am very impressed with this selection, especially the premium memory foam inserts which are some of the most comfortable inserts I have ever used.
Since I do a lot of running, it is important that headphones like this stay in my ears without me having to stop and readjust them every few minutes. I am happy to say I don’t have to do that at all with the Brainwavz Audio Delta headphones as they manage to stay comfortably sat in my ears.
Priced between £20 to £23, I wouldn’t blame you if you weren’t expecting much in terms of audio quality, but surprisingly these budget in-ear headphones manage to pump out some amazing sound.
Treble is pretty good with plenty of attention to detail where it needed within the high notes. The mids are just right with nothing of concern and lastly, the bass is pretty good, not the best, but not the worst either and I say this because sometimes it does feel like there’s a little too much bass, especially where it’s not needed.
Listening to music at higher volumes doesn’t create any distortion with the Brainwavz Audio Delta headphones like it does with other cheaper in-ear headphones I have used. This is quite surprising given the price of these.
I honestly feel that the Brainwavz Audio Delta headphones are a refreshing reminder that budget headphones can be great. Their minimalistic design paired with great audio and a low price make them one of the best sets of in-ear headphones I own.
