Aennon LED Head Torch Set Review: A Good Head Torch But The Price Isn’t Right

Introduction:

Welcome to my review of the Aennon LED Head Torch Set. Head torches are really useful things to have particularly if you are out at night working or if like me you take your dog out late at night and in the early hours of the morning. As well as the head torch, this also comes with two armbands for visibility.

Listed below are bestselling Aennon LED Head Torch Set which satisfy both affordability and quality.

Design and quality:

While the design of this torch is ok, I must admit it doesn’t warrant the current price of almost £15, in my opinion, this should be a tenner and I only say that because you do get armbands with the head torch. In all honesty, I have had head torches better than this one at this price.

The design is fairly basic, The light unit is a small three LED box with the battery compartment built-in. It looks rather generic and this makes it look very similar to lights I have seen for a couple of quid in discount stores. The headband is a basic elasticated headband with no mid strap. It is adjustable though and fits my head quite well.

The head torch is powered by three AAA batteries, which do come included in the box. These sit in a compartment behind the LED lights, this compartment is accessed by unclipping the bottom of the light box and lifting it up.

Also included are two armbands that actually feel well made and are very easy to put on. They simply wrap around each of your arms and are secured using the hook and loop fasteners. This ensures they stay on the arms nice and tightly. Each band has a power button and four LED lights.

The build quality is ok, but I wouldn’t like to accidentally drop this head torch as the cheap plastic feels as if it may break very easily. The armbands are faultless in terms of design, which certainly makes up for the head torch design.

In use:

I have used this a few times now for my late night and early morning dog walks through the dark woodland near my house. It has a total of four modes which are, on brightest, on dimmest, middle light off with each red side light on and all lights on with the middle light flashing. Switching between these modes is simply a case of pressing the power button. The torch can easily be positioned at many different angles so, for example, it can be worn so it’s shining right ahead of you or further down towards your feet.

The comfort provided by the head strap isn’t the best even if it does fit me properly, it does cause me a bit of discomfort, which isn’t a massive issue, but more or an irritation that I could do without while wearing this.

As I walk down unlit paths and through woodland, it’s important to me that the light provided by this head torch is bright enough for me to clearly see. Luckily it is quite bright and I am easily able to see things ahead of me.

The arm bands are fantastic. The lights on them are red and have two modes, flashing and static. They also have a reflective material so you are visible to people in passing vehicles. They fit around my arms quite well and once secured they stay put.

Overall:

This set is ok, but I do think for the price it isn’t worth it at all. The head torch looks generic but works as it should, while the headbands are truly the best part of this set.

DISCLOSURE:

I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest and unbiased review. This has had no effect on my overall opinion of the product.
